Mission:
To provide social and learning activities to our troop members and to
teach them the value of community service.
Activities:
We seek to give our pack members a chance to bond with each other and
their parents. The boys learn to be loyal, trustworthy and to honor the
adults around them. We perform a variety of acts of community service
including collecting food for the hungry and participating in the
Samaritan Purse Project. The Samaritan Purse Project entails collecting
supplies and small toys for children who do not have these small
necessities, putting them together and sending them to children in
Mexico and other countries around the world. We also participate in
Christmas caroling in the parish. Some of the pack members go on a
weekend camping trip each year. One of the most fun events for the boys
is the Pinewood Derby which takes place in the spring. The boys make
their own miniature pine cars and race them against other Boy Scout
troops in the Bronx. Last year, three of our boys won trophies in the
race. The Boy Scout program also works in unison with the social
studies program in the school.
